MASA (Modern Art of Syria Archive) is an initiative by the Atassi Foundation dedicated to documenting and sharing Syria’s artistic heritage. The platform gives researchers, art enthusiasts, and the wider public access to archival materials and an electronic library through Arabic and English interfaces.
SheenValue delivered the UI/UX design and website development, alongside the deployment and integration of CollectiveAccess for managing the archive.
The project required a clear, accessible way to present a varied collection of archival records and publications. The browsing experience needed to help visitors explore the collection while connecting the public website to the foundation’s archive management system.
We designed the user experience and developed a Next.js website that presents the archive through organized browsing, search, and filtering. Detailed record pages allow visitors to explore individual materials and their associated documents.
We also deployed CollectiveAccess and integrated it with the website, connecting the public experience to a dedicated platform for cataloguing and managing archival content.
MASA makes Syrian artistic heritage easier to discover and explore online. The platform supports research and public access while giving the foundation a connected system for managing and presenting its growing archive.
